A commemoration program was held at the park bearing his name in Kireçburnu by the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul on the 101st anniversary of the birth of Azerbaijan’s late President and Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. The ceremony was attended by Consul General Narmina Mustafayeva, Sarıyer Mayor Mustafa Oktay Aksu, members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Turkey-Azerbaijan Business People Association (TAİB), and Turkey-Azerbaijan Associations Federation (TADEF), representatives of SOCAR, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), consulate staff, diplomats, military personnel, and students from the Istanbul Azerbaijan Hüseyin Cavit School.

The ceremony, which began with the playing of both countries’ national anthems, featured speeches by Consul General Mustafayeva and the Mayor of Sarıyer. The ceremony concluded with the laying of flowers at the monuments of Heydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the park.
