
National Leader Heydar Aliyev Commemorated at Kireçburnu on the 21st Anniversary of His Passing
A commemoration program was held for Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan, at the Heydar Aliyev Park in Kireçburnu, hosted by the Azerbaijan Consulate General. The opening speech of the commemoration program, held in the park named after him by Sarıyer Municipality, was delivered by Narmina Mustafayeva, Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul. “Heydar Aliyev is the common pride not only of Azerbaijan but of the entire Turkic world,” said Mustafayeva, adding: “He is a very important leader for all of us with his vision, life experience, and devotion to his country. The brotherhood of Turkey and Azerbaijan with the understanding of one nation, two states is his luminous legacy. Heydar Aliyev taught us to work tirelessly without stopping. The legacy he left us is Azerbaijan. Protecting, strengthening, and embracing our country is the duty of all of us.”
Meltem Yücel Pir, Deputy Speaker of Sarıyer Municipal Council, commemorated the National Leader of Azerbaijan with these words: “Aliyev’s ideas, ideals, and works will continue to live on for eternity, just like our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Heydar Aliyev was a leader who guided not only Azerbaijan but the entire Turkic world. Today, this brotherhood continues to grow even stronger. In this context, the cooperation Turkey and Azerbaijan carry out towards their common goals is very valuable. Following in the footsteps of our leaders, we will continue to work to advance our countries and cooperation. Like them, we will consider serving our people as the greatest duty and work for the future of our region.”
The Turkey-Azerbaijan Business People Association was represented at the ceremony by its Board of Directors.
The ceremony, which began with the playing of both countries’ national anthems, concluded with the laying of flowers at the monuments of Heydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the park.
