
Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum Held in Baku on December 21
On December 21, the Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum was held in Baku, organized by the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan in collaboration with the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Finance Office, the Ministry of Trade of Turkey, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and the Turkey-Azerbaijan Businessmen and Industrialists Public Association. The event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Turkey’s Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, and the Head of the Presidency Finance Office Prof. Dr. Göksel Aşan also participated in the Forum.
The Forum, which aimed to further strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries and make significant contributions to regional development, addressed strategic issues related to expanding economic cooperation, as well as steps to be taken to establish strong economic relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, and potential investment opportunities.
Within the scope of the Forum, panel sessions covering investment, trade, agriculture, defense industry, “green” energy, and health tourism were held, along with B2B meetings between businesspeople and entrepreneurs.
An action plan was also signed between the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency and the Turkey-Azerbaijan Businessmen and Industrialists Public Association.
According to the signed 2024 Action Plan, joint projects are planned to increase the volume of trade and investment between the parties, strengthen cooperation between the two countries, and promote mutual investment opportunities.
The Forum, attended by numerous government officials and executives of large and medium-sized companies from both countries, was represented by the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Azerbaijani Businesspeople in Turkey (TAİB), Businessman Elshan Guliyev. Guliyev met with government officials and businesspeople from various sectors participating in the forum and discussed TAİB’s role in deepening economic cooperation and investment opportunities between the two countries.
